Euphoria Returns. Again.

20

Season 2 ended in 2022? I barely processed it. My TikTok “For You” feed is still haunted by clips from three years ago. Time is doing tricks on us all.

Jump to season 3 now. We’re five years post-graduation here. The characters aren’t teenagers anymore. That’s the change. The cast stays heavy though—Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacobi Elordi, Sydney Sweeney are still carrying it. Maude Apatow. Colman Domingo. Eric Dane.

But look at who shows up this time. Sharon Stone? Natasha Lyonne? Trisha Paytas? That roster feels erratic in the best way.

The plot? Supposedly about faith. Redemption. Evil. Or just wrestling with how bad things get when you think they’re over.

And the streaming name changes? Don’t even start. HBO Max, then Max, then HBO Max again. Who’s keeping score? Doesn’t matter really. The show is back.

Sunday. May 17.

You know the drill. Sunday night. That’s the slot. Episode 6 drops on HBO Max.

Sunday, May 17 at 9 p.m. Eastern.
Or 6 p.m. if you’re on the coast. It hits the cable feed at 9 p.m too. No tricks there. Just another weekly appointment to ruin your sleep schedule.

What happens in this one? The title gives a clue: “Stand Still and See.”

Here’s the rest of the countdown before we’re left hanging again:

  • Episode 6: “Stand Still and See” — May 17
  • Episode 7: “Rain or Shine” — May 24
  • Episode 8: “In God We Trust” — May 31

Just like that. It ends in late May. Quick turnaround for five years of life changes.

Will they find redemption? Probably not. They’re the characters who never really do. We watch because we know they’re going to mess it up anyway.
